TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) - A Tallahassee man was found guilty Wednesday of assaulting a woman on FSU’s campus back in September 2021 and trying to assault another woman a few blocks away less than an hour later.

Travis Gibson was found guilty of kidnapping, attempted sexual battery, attempted kidnapping and more in a bench trial Wednesday, court records show. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Gibson was accused of assaulting an FSU student as she walked to an early morning yoga class on September 27, 2021.

Gibson was accused of following her as she crossed Woodward Avenue and Tennessee Street and then grabbed her and tried to assault her near the Carraway Building. The woman managed to escape and call for help.
