Veteran Republican operative Karl Rove may not have seen this coming.

President Donald Trump lashed out at Rove on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, hours after he made an appearance on Fox News. Rove, who joined “Fox & Friends,” took particular aim at the Democratic National Committee as it hosts the final day of its annual summer meeting .

Rove first said the event had kicked off on a “weird note,” pointing to how a Minnesota Democrat introduced herself as an “Indigenous queer woman” and recited a land acknowledgement on Monday. He also noted that the party had withdrawn a resolution calling for an arms embargo and suspension of military aid to Israel following a messy debate.

“Listening to that meeting was just painful,” Rove said.
