John Fogerty already told Trump to cut the crap when he sent POTUS a cease and desist notice in 2020 over his campaign’s use of Creedence Clearwater Revival ’s “Fortunate Son.” As recently as June’s birthday party military parade , however, Trump was still having the distinctly anti-war song played at his events. In a new interview with Vulture , Fogerty said politicians’ continued misreading of the classic track is “hilarious.”
Asked what he believes his most misunderstood song is, Fogerty said “Fortunate Son” is frequently misconstrued by “people who seem to be conservative, right-wing, and probably Republican or some other ‘ism’ in that category. And most notably by Mr. Trump.”
