GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who robbed a Wyoming bank shortly after getting out of prison told a Kent County judge he was sorry for the heist, which he said was spurred by hunger and a need for clothes.
“I’m sorry, your honor. I’m sorry to the bank. I was hungry," a tearful Timothy Herron said Thursday during an appearance in Kent County Circuit Court.
“I have nothing," Herron told Judge Scott Noto. “I was just hungry. I had nothing. What made me do it? I just needed some money so I could have some clean clothes, place to sleep. And that was it."
The robbery happened in April of 2024 at the Fifth Third Bank branch on Michael Avenue SW at 28th Street. It was the second time the branch and the same teller were hit in less than two weeks.
