Spencer Rattler has been named the New Orleans Saints' Week 1 quarterback starter, and former Saints quarterback Drew Brees has shared his thoughts about the decision.

On Kay Adams' "Up & Adams" show, published on Wednesday, Brees was asked about Rattler being named New Orleans' Week 1 starter.

"I was impressed by Rattler last year," Brees said. "Especially on a team, look, they were decimated by injury. He lost [Chris] Olave and [Rashid] Shaheed early in that year so he was really shorthanded. And as a rookie quarterback, you're trying to figure it out."

Rattler finished 2024 completing 130 of 228 pass attempts for 1,317 passing yards, 5 interceptions and 4 touchdowns. He was 0-6 as a starter.
