A new alliance between eight municipalities aims to attract investment and create jobs in the Calgary region amid economic uncertainty.

The three-year pilot will focus on regional research and analysis, regional marketing and promotion, investor support and program development.

Hosted by Calgary Economic Development (CED), the Invest Greater Calgary initiative brings together the City of Airdrie, City of Calgary, City of Chestermere, Town of Cochrane, Foothills County, Town of High River, Town of Okotoks and Rocky View County.

“This partnership shows the power of municipalities working as one to compete globally and act locally,” Bonnie Nunnari, CED’s interim lead on the project, said in a Thursday media release.
