Notre Dame-Green Pond football head coach Phil Stambaugh earned a spot in the school record books on Friday night.

Stambaugh, who is in his 10th season leading the Crusaders, got his 79th victory as head coach of the program when Notre Dame posted a 21-3 road victory over Garden Spot in the 2025 opener.

The 79th win for Stambaugh broke the previous program mark set by Marty Hlay, who produced an overall record of 78-91-6 from 1964-1980. Stambaugh has an overall record of 79-25 at Notre Dame. Combined with his five seasons of coaching Pius X, Stambaugh has a head coaching mark of 122-44 in 15 years.
