COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Among all the new bells and whistles to be seen and heard this season at Ohio Stadium, where Ohio State hosts top-ranked Texas this Saturday, one feature from the Longhorn state will not be in attendance.

Texas’ mascot, Bevo, will not be on the sidelines when the third-ranked Buckeyes take on No. 1 Texas.

A member of the Silver Spurs Alumni Association told NBC4 that logistics are to blame as it would reportedly require an eight-day round trip to transport Bevo to and from Saturday’s game. The 2,100-pound longhorn would also require pulling four student handlers from school, where classes began just this past Monday.
