GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A new center for the arts is expected to open up in Gainesville next year.
Leaders with the dance alive national ballet company broke ground on the Khoury Family Center for the Arts.
A 22 thousand square foot venue on the corner of Northwest 34th Street and Northwest 39th Avenue.
It will feature a new dance and music studios, community outreach programs, and a new art gallery.
“We wanted to lay roots cause we established a really strong foundation for the arts here. Are efforts have always been to keep the highest standards that we an have,” said Dance Alive Artistic Director Kim Tuttle. “So we’re going to be doing that with dance, but we’re adding music, and I think we have a huge support group in our board of trustees, our dancers, our teachers, our donors.
