OWENTON, Ky. — A Kentucky couple is planning on paying off their house after they found a winning lottery ticket.

Michael Perry, of Owenton, recently left work early to pick up his cousin in Louisville when he stopped in Verona for lottery tickets. He bought two tickets at Verona Hop Shop.

The first ticket wasn't a winner, but the second ticket would change his life.

“But when I scratched off the second ticket I couldn't believe my eyes – $250,000! Anytime I buy them I always buy two at a time,” he told lottery officials.

Michael scratched off a win on every spot on the ticket to win the game’s $250,000 top prize.

"The first thing that crossed my mind was paying off my house. It's an amazing feeling to know that I can do that now," he said.
