The Port Authority has alerted travelers of a major PATH service disruption to take place over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Port Authority announced that the crucial Hoboken Terminal of the PATH will be closed beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.
The well-traveled station will reopen at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The reason for the closure is so that urgent repairs can be performed to the track and to the interlocking system that enables PATH trains to switch tracks and access different platforms within the station.
A number of provisions have been made to replace PATH service at Hoboken, according to an emergency alert issued by the City of Hoboken.
