Hot and humid weather has returned to North Texas. Thursday will have high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with a heat index around 100-105.

The front will bring a chance of scattered thunderstorms this evening and overnight. The Storm Prediction Center has areas north and east of DFW included in a level 2 risk. Large hail and high winds will be the main concerns.

The front will also bring a drop in temperatures. Highs on Friday will still be around 90, but should hold in the 80s for Labor Day weekend (although the humidity will remain elevated).

There is a low chance of a storm or two in the area Friday. The rain may be a bit more widespread on Saturday, especially in the morning. Keep those outdoor plans flexible in case there’s a rain delay. Sunday’s rain chance looks lower and
