PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania Representative is looking to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mental health care.
Recently, there has been a rise in the use of AI for mental and behavioral health, in both health care settings and recreationally. For example, the parents of a 16-year-old sued OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, alleging that ChatGPT "coached" their son into planning to take his own life.
Rep. Melissa Shusterman argued in her newest memo that there are potential risks associated with providing inaccurate, biased or inconsistent medical recommendations that can undermine patient care.
