PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Local trash days will be moved due to Labor Day next week.

GFL Environmental Inc. will not be collecting recycling, trash, or yard waste on Monday, Sept. 1; instead, they will all be delayed by one day, according to a city of Peoria spokesman, Nick McMillion.

He said the new days will be as follows: • If your collection day is Monday, pick-up will be delayed to Tuesday. • If your collection day is Tuesday, pick-up will be delayed to Wednesday. • If your collection day is Wednesday, pick-up will be delayed to Thursday. • If your collection day is Thursday, pick-up will be delayed to Friday. • If your collection day is Friday, pick-up will be delayed to Saturday.

Normal pick-up times will begin next week.
