An NYPD spokesman told the Chronicle last Thursday that detectives are actively searching for surveillance video to find the person wanted for the stabbing death of a South Jamaica man.

Police said they received a 911 call around 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 16 about Ramnarine Bahadur, 43, who was found with a stab wound to the chest in that neighborhood.

Bahadur, of 119th Avenue, was stabbed just a minute’s walk from his home, according to Google Maps.

The victim was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries, said police. There were no arrests by press time and the investigation was ongoing.
