WHITESIDE COUNTY, Ill. (KWQC) - After a 1,400-pound black steer was stolen in rural Whiteside County, the sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help to find the theft.

Sheriff John Booker said deputies are investigating the theft that occurred in the sometime in the previous two days at the farm located between Morrison and Fulton.

“The theft of livestock is not only a serious financial loss to our farmers, but it’s a crime that impacts the backbone of our rural community. We are committed to pursuing every lead to recover this steer and hold those responsible accountable,” he said.
