LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - An inmate reportedly escaped from the Laurens County Detention Center Thursday morning, only to be captured about an hour later.

According to the Laurens County Sheriff's Office, Travilous Kyndrell Austin escaped from the jail around 10:30 a.m.

Austin was being held on charges of attempted murder, burglary, and armed robbery.

Deputies said he was spotted around 11:20 a.m. in the area of AB Jacks Road and Milam Road wearing a white shirt and orange pants.

That location was about 1.75 miles from the detention center.

About 10 minutes later, the sheriff's office reported that Austin was taken back into custody.
