A major road project is set to begin after Labor Day, bringing new traffic patterns and detours to a busy intersection in southern St. Clair County.

The St. Clair County Road Commission announced that construction of a roundabout at Marine City Highway and Palms Road will start Tuesday, Sept. 2. The project, located on the border of Ira and Casco townships, is expected to run through late October.
