YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A man arrested earlier this year on a West Side street and charged with gun crimes was sentenced Thursday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to three years of probation.
Judge John Durkin gave the sentence to Brandon Ravnell, who pleaded guilty July 9 to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies.
Ravnell was arrested March 25 after police were called to the 100 block of Sillman Street for a report of two men wearing ski masks and walking through backyards.
One of the officers who was called saw a man, later identified as Ravnell, walking on North Maryland Avenue toward Sillman Street. When a witness called out, the man ran away but was later caught in a backyard in the 100 block of Oakwood Av
