LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Alma District Fire Department in Gratiot County has announced the passing of longtime Fire Chief Harold House.

In a statement shared Thursday on Facebook, the department wrote, “Rest in peace, Chief; we’ve got this from here.”

Chief House began his service with the department in June 1973 and dedicated over five decades to protecting and serving the community.

Details surrounding his passing have not been released at this time. The fire department says it will share funeral arrangements once they become available.
