ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The New Mexico State Fair is slated for Sept. 4 to Sept. 14. And as preparations ramp up, the fair has released a list of competitors for two major events.

Unique Foods Contest (12 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the Chevron Pavilion)

Sweet, salty, fried and more - there's a bizarre food for everyone. A panel of local media personalities are judging this competition, and after the fact, each vendor will have their dish available for purchase. • Fried Alligator w/ Boudin Balls Crispy, fried, and perfectly seasoned alligator served with deep-fried, seasoned, bite-sized Boudin balls. Boudin balls are crunchy on the outside with a smooth, flavorful interior. Served with melted cheese. Concessionaire: Seafood Cajun Café – Food Court
