DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A boil water order has been issued for Tuscola water customers, according to a post on the city's Facebook page.

The boil water order was put in place due to a water main break.

The notice was put on Facebook shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.

It's not clear how the long the water main repairs will take or how long the boil order will be in place.

The Illinois EPA recommends boiling water for five minutes before using it to cook or drink.

Tuscola is located in Douglas County, and is home to roughly 4,500 people.
