FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police arrested a man Wednesday who was wanted in connection to a fatal crash that happened in April.
Brandon Tyrone Vershon Pearson, 28, was speeding through northeast Fort Wayne on April 4 and led police on a pursuit that ultimately ended in a crash near Sherman Boulevard.
According to Allen Superior Court documents, Pearson reportedly reached speeds of roughly 85 mph in a 30 mph zone during the chase. Data retrieved from an “airbag control module” reported that the vehicle had been going 79 mph right before it crashed into a tree.
The collision killed a woman who was in the car, 28-year-old Jamela Renee Hathaway.
