CENTRAL HURON – Huron County OPP are investigating a scam that led to a 19-year-old Central Huron teen losing $5,000.
Police said the victim received a call on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from an individual stating that they worked at the victim’s bank. They told the victim they needed to send someone to pick up her bank cards, which they said had been compromised.

A man arrived by car to the victim’s home and took her cards, and she discovered later that $5,000 had been stolen from her accounts.
Police are continuing to investigate the fraud and are asking the public to come forward with any information that may help in the investigation.
