JACKSON TWP., Ohio (WKBN) - Another major road construction project is about to get underway in Mahoning County.
Mahoning County Engineer Pat Ginnetti asked Commissioners Thursday to approve a contract to rebuild and repave a portion of Mahoning Avenue in Jackson Township starting this fall.
The area involved will stretch from State Route 45 west to Duck Creek Road, as part of the $6.2 million project that includes a new roundabout at the intersection with Bailey Road.
"Federal Highway scored a roundabout for that intersection. It's going to help improve traffic flow. It's going to improve safety, efficiency, so that will all be part of this entire cooridor project," Ginnetti said.
While the Mahoning Avenue project is expected to take about a year, work is getting underway next week fo
