ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Capital District Scottish Games is taking over the Altamont Fairgrounds on August 30. Families can partake in watching music and athletic competitions, learn more about Scottish culture, and indulge in Scottish beer and handmade goods.

The opening parade and ceremony begin at 11:30 a.m. near the grandstand, but the gates open at 8 a.m. for the piping and drumming, Highland dance, and other activities. Tickets are $25 at the gate and can be bought in advance through the Capital District Scottish Games website.
