ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Two people have been arrested after a missing juvenile was found safe, according to Etowah County Sheriff's Office.

Layla Brogdon, 16, was reported missing on Aug. 20 and has been found safe, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton. She was located in Gaylesville on Aug. 21 and was transported back to ECSO, where the Etowah County Department of Human Resources was contacted.

Ronald Brogdon, 42, and Faith Brogdon, 40, were both taken into custody in connection to the case. Records reportedly indicate that the parents were aware of Layla's disappearance on Aug. 18 but did not report her missing until Aug. 20.

They were both charged with failure to report a missing child. They were released after posting $1,000 bonds. The case is under investigation.
