The City of Clinton is disputing what it calls “inaccurate and unfounded” characterizations in a recent local news report that suggested the city’s roads are “crumbling” and “pothole-riddled.”
City officials said the report misrepresented the condition of Clinton’s streets and failed to reflect the ongoing efforts being made to improve infrastructure through a multi-million dollar paving program.
Mayor Will Purdie expressed disappointment in how his interview was portrayed.
According to the city, Clinton has prioritized street paving for years, dedicating over $1 million annually to road improvements. Officials say this consistent investment has been made possible through a dedicated street paving budget established across multiple terms.
