CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person is in the hospital after a shooting in southeast Charlotte on Thursday afternoon.

Medic confirmed it happened around 3:30 p.m. along South Sharon Amity Road, near Randolph Road. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police later confirmed it was investigating the shooting and that the suspect and victim likely knew each other. The victim's condition has also been upgraded and faces non-life-threatening injuries.
