North Ogden — A powerful storm swept through North Ogden Wednesday, dumping relentless rain that overwhelmed homes and left residents scrambling to clean up and prepare for more.

For Daisy Hall and her family, the damage was sudden and surreal.

“I was getting ready for school, and I was like, ‘This feels like a movie, it looks fake,’” Hall said, standing in the muddy wreckage of her basement.

The storm began yesterday and didn’t let up until today, causing a window well to fill and eventually collapse under the pressure, sending water and shattered glass pouring into the home.

“There’s glass all over the basement,” Hall said. “It’s like a mudslide in our basement.”
