MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Animal Services (MAS) is rolling out a new community-driven initiative called Project Pawtect to improve pet health, reduce strays, and help reunite lost pets with their families.

The program aims to make vaccinations and microchips more accessible for Memphis pet owners by setting up pop-up clinics in familiar neighborhood gathering spots such as churches, community centers, and even vacant lots.

"Project Pawtect is about meeting people where they are and providing resources that make it easier to care for pets," said MAS Director Suzy Hollenbach. "When more pets are vaccinated and microchipped, our whole community benefits."
