The hunt is on again this Labor Day weekend as the Moreland Cultural Arts Alliance launches its third annual Hunt for the Lost Treasure of West Georgia.

This year’s edition expands beyond Coweta County to include surrounding counties within 20 miles of the county line. Treasure hunters will follow weekly clues to hidden “gems” scattered across the region.

“We wanted to add a little extra challenge this year for all those tackling the Hunt,” said Carol Chancey, founder and organizer of the event.

The hunt begins Friday, Aug. 29, and continues through Saturday, Sept. 27. Clues will be posted each Friday — Aug. 29, Sept. 5, Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 — on the alliance’s website, morelandadventure.com/events , and on its Facebook page.
