LAWRENCE — Both Saturday after the 31-7 win against Fresno State, and Monday during an appearance on the “Hawk Talk with Lance Leipold” show, Cam Pickett recalled how much he admired Jalon Daniels before ever playing with him.

Pickett, a wide receiver who transferred from Ball State to Kansas football during the offseason, had watched a lot of Jayhawks games the past couple of years. He’d seen what Daniels, KU’s quarterback, was capable of. Daniels, now a redshirt senior, appeared to be one of a number of reasons — including team culture, the coaching staff and more — that Pickett chose to continue his college career at Kansas .
