KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The U.S. Marshals Service has announced that a fugitive who was wanted out of Sarasota, Florida for sexual battery on a minor was arrested in East Tennessee on Thursday.
On Aug. 28, the USMS office in Greeneville received information from the USMS Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force in Tampa that a fugitive, Eleazar Briones-Vega, could possibly be in East Tennessee.
Officials say using that information, the Eastern Tennessee USMS Smoky Mountains Task Force was able to locate Briones-Vega in White Pine, Tennessee. He was arrested without incident.
Information from a Florida investigation revealed that Briones-Vega allegedly committed sexual acts on a minor victim who was under 10 years old at the time. The acts then continued for approximately three y
