PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Portions of a state highway and national forest are back open weeks after closing due to the devastating Dragon Bravo Fire in northern Arizona.

The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that, as of noon on Thursday, State Route 67 south of Jacob Lake is now open to drivers. Visitors can use the highway from the US 89A junction at Jacob Lake to milepost 605, near the Kaibab Lodge.

Drivers should still be cautious and follow signage instructions as fire crews continue working in the area.

In addition, Kaibab National Forest officials announced that 77,000 acres of national forest lands west of SR 67 and south of US 89A have reopened to the public.

Officials say crews are making good progress on repair efforts and fire behavior has decreased in certain areas
