BEDFORD — In a celebratory atmosphere in the Bedford Area Welcome Center on Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., joined Bedford County and town leaders, internet service companies and residents in marking the county’s successes in nearly achieving its goal of universal broadband coverage.
Warner praised the Bedford County Board of Supervisors for working with multiple internet service providers (ISPs) to connect thousands of homes and businesses to high-speed broadband in recent years.
“That’s tough to do,” Warner said of countywide coverage. “So, kudos to the [Bedford] board of supervisors for being involved and hanging in.”
