BC Bus Pass users will no longer have to show their card to the driver and can now tap to board on BC Transit buses.

The BC Bus Pass is a subsidized pass for people receiving disability assistance and low-income seniors.

Prior to Sept. 1, BC Bus Pass users on BC Transit had to show their pass to the driver to get on board.

They will now be able to scan their passes on the digital validator when boarding in any transit system using Umo payment.

BC Transit says they hope this will also help capture data for an improved understanding of the subsidized pass use, which will help improve delivery of transit services.
