A body was found near Monument Valley Park early Thursday morning that's being investigated as a homicide, Colorado Springs police confirmed.

A call came in around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Cache La Poudre and Mesa Road on a trail under a bridge by the park, police said. The area was taped off after the homicide unit arrived around an hour later.

"We're not exactly sure what all is going on or what happened," said Caitlin Ford, a spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Investigators have not determined who the deceased was or a suspect.
