YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - The Youngstown Police Department is investigating a shooting at St. Elizabeth Health Center's main campus.

Police were there earlier at the facility on Belmont Avenue. They say there is no danger to the public or Mercy Health at this time, calling it an isolated incident.

Fire Chief Barry Finley confirms authorities were called to the hospital for a shooting on Thursday afternoon.

Mercy Health released the following statement in response:

"The safety, security and well-being of our patients, visitors and staff is a top priority for Mercy Health. An isolated incident occurred on Aug. 28 within a contained area of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital Emergency Department, and our team responded quickly and appropriately.
