BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Detectives are investigating a shooting that left two people seriously injured early Thursday morning, Aug. 28.

The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene near the intersection of Government and Maximilian Street around 12:30 a.m.

Police said three people were in a vehicle traveling westbound on Government Street when another vehicle pulled alongside them and started shooting.

Two people suffered gunshot wounds that are not considered life-threatening, explained police.

EMS confirmed the two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
