DIX, N.Y. (WENY) -- One person was airlifted to the hospital after a two-car crash in Schuyler County Thursday morning.

It happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Irelandville Road and Cross Road in the Town of Dix.

According to the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office, a person driving a Honda CRV on Irelandville Rd. failed to stop at a posted stop sign, and continued into the intersection when an oncoming Dodge Journey traveling on Cross Rd. crashed into the vehicle and caused it to roll. Law enforcement say the driver of the Dodge was unable to avoid the car.

One person was ejected from the CRV while it was rolling. They were taken to the hospital via helicopter. The driver and two other passengers inside the CRV were taken by ambulance to Robert Packe
