FARGO — Gone from North Dakota State’s football team from a year ago is a kicker who spent 13 semesters on campus, long enough to start a doctoral program. Griffin Crosa left as NDSU’s all-time scoring leader with 439 points.

He set school and Division I FCS records for most extra point kicks with 277 in 279 attempts. His Bison legacy includes setting the school record for field goal accuracy making 84% of his attempts.

Eli Ozick saw the finished product as a true freshman last year. With Crosa moving on, the job is now Ozick’s.

“Done it in the past so you can fall back on that,” Ozick said. “And also knowing at the same time all through camp there is competition so just going out every day, trying your best and trying to win the day.”

The job wasn’t given to Ozick. He edged sophomore
