PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Human remains discovered in Tillamook earlier this year have been identified as a missing woman who had not been seen since 2018, according to the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office.

Maria Del Carmen Quintana, 59, was last seen in the area of Nehalem near Highway 53 on Nov. 30, 2018. Her disappearance prompted search and rescue missions with the sheriff’s office at the time.

On May 28, 2025, partial remains were discovered in a heavily wooded area not far from Quintana’s home and tested for identification. Officials found that they were a match.
