OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Firefighters made quick work of a house fire on Thursday in Southwest Oklahoma City after someone left their food cooking on the stove.
According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, crews responded to a home near SW 22nd Street and S McKinley Avenue.
When fire crews arrived, they found no one inside and that the fire had started due to unattended cooking. They were able to contain the fire before it could spread further.
OKCFD wants to remind Oklahomans to be careful, as cooking is the leading cause of house fires, with most incidents happening due to food being left unattended.
