EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A 16-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 19, after four undocumented migrants were spotted entering the vehicle he was driving, and fleeing after authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, Border Patrol Chief Michael W. Banks said on social media.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), working with U.S. Border Patrol, spotted four people illegally entering the U.S. and loading up into a Sedan.

When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, a 16-year-old teen, disregarded and a short pursuit ensued, Banks said.

Law enforcement swiftly activated a vehicle immobilization device that brought the vehicle to a stop.

The driver was arrested and is facing state charges for human smuggling. The four undocumented migrants will be processed according to
