A Sherwood Park man has been charged in connection to a police shooting at the Strathcona County RCMP detachment last month.

At roughly 10:30 a.m. on July 28, officers saw a man with what appeared to be a firearm in the detachment’s rear staff-only parking lot.

The detachment went into an immediate lockdown to ensure the safety of the civilian employees.
