GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Thrive Learning Center in Kentwood is among the schools that will get a new AED as a program donates one of the lifesaving devices to schools around the country each day in August.

Thrive Learning Center Board President Lisa Brown said that the school applied for the AED because it wanted to create a safer environment for its students.

“We just started a foundation to support the school and we applied for a grant through the ADAM Project to receive an AED as part of our commitment to create a safe learning environment,” Brown said. “And so we received notice that we were an award recipient for this AED.”
