ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The YMCA of Greater Rochester is preparing for the upcoming school year with its before and after-school programs, available in seventeen school districts for children in kindergarten through 5th grade.

These programs are designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for children outside of school hours, allowing them to have fun while continuing to learn and grow.

"Nothing's more important than our kids, so knowing that they're in a safe space, able to have fun and maybe not be stuck on a bus right before or after school or come home to an empty house where they might only have an iPad or a TV to hang out with, instead we're putting them in a space where it's safe," said Terrence McElduff, VP of Youth Enrichment at the YMCA.
