ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester police are investigating a shooting that happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday near East Avenue and Broadway, a few steps away from the popular Parcel 5 area downtown.

Stromboli’s, a family-owned restaurant nearby, said they had live music playing when police rushed down the street.

“We were just having live music, and we saw seven or eight cop cars all of a sudden start rushing by at maybe 7 or 7:15,” said Zachariah Bancle. “They had the street all blocked off, and at that point we didn’t really know what happened.”

Police believe the incident was not random, saying there may have been a dispute that led up to the shooting.
