(KRON) — A 63-year-old man was arrested for annoying and harassing children near Louise Van Meter Elementary School in Los Gatos on Aug. 28, according to the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department.

The suspect, Los Gatos resident John Alan Hale, was allegedly seen filming children with his phone and harassing and annoying them around 8:10 that morning. A member of the public allegedly got in a fight with Hale over his behavior and police were called to the scene.

“Hale was taken into custody on charges related to annoying and harassing minors and battery,” the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department said. “In addition, the investigation revealed that Hale had attempted to temporarily restrain a juvenile in the course of his actions and therefore he is being charged with attempted kidn
